UNP and leader of Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe addressing the party’s Youth Front meeting held yesterday (6) at the Sri Kotha said, the proportional representation (PR) in the SL electoral system and the Executive Presidency shall be abolished.

The future UNA Govt. will introduce a new constitution , abolish the PR system and introduce a new 25 year plan. These plans will be so done , that these plans wont change with  changes in the Govt. Because the development plans are changed by subsequent Govts .and Ministers , proper implementation is made impossible.

Mr. Wickremesinghe added that in the present disastrous financial situation in the country , it will be difficult to extricate it from the monumental financial blunders of the Govt. without increasing the State revenue fifty fold.

He emphasized that the education, health  and agriculture sectors are worst hit during this Govt. though they are the most vital.
