ImageUNP M.P . and media spokesman Gayantha Karunatileke speaking to the media today (7) said , the proposals advanced  to introduce re structuring in the UNP  has turned into a great boon  , as it has kindled fresh enthusiasm and interest in all towards making UNP a victorious party . At the beginning , a six member Committee under the Chairmanship of Joseph Michael Perera was appointed  towards this re structuring. But , now the whole country has been awakened in this direction ..All provincial Councils , Party Organizers , Lawyers association , Media Organizations ,  Unions and other pro UNP Institutions  have come forward with their views. As there has been an unexpected response and the party is overwhelmed with suggestions and proposals , all views are being taken into consideration, Karunatileke told.

Owing to this re structuring idea , the whole party is getting galvanized into triumphant action .and tha enabled all differences to be  ironed out , he noted.

Answering questions posed by the media , Karunatileke said , the final proposals will be ready for ratification by August when the UNP convention is scheduled to be held. He also emphasized that there are no hindrances whatsoever from any quarter to garnering or receiving proposals of any kind towards the re structuring program. Everyone without exception is working towards making the party a stupendous success through the re structuring , he observed.

Referring to the IIFA film award ceremony , after Govt. spending so much money on this , what gain did the country acquire  ? at least , did our artistes derive any benefit ? he asked. While the flood victims have still not been provided with  relief , the Govt. wasted billions for its own amusement and entertainment , Gayantha pointed out.
