As soon as we received information about this attack , we contacted  Puttalam District  Additional Manageress Pervin Herath and requested to forward us a detailed report on the incident.

Immediately we received the report , it was forwarded to the party’s legal division to enable them to prepare a charge sheet . In accordance with the charge sheet , a registered letter has been sent on the 11th of May 2010 to the Provincial Council member Sisira Kumara Abeysekera.

Mr. Abeysekera has to forward us his letter of explanation according to the instructions in the charge sheet before  31 st May 2010.

After the 31st of May ,a disciplinary Committee will be appointed . An investigation will be conducted by the committee and will be reported to the Executive Committee .

This is a disciplinary inquiry by the party . It is only the Executive Committee which can take decisions regarding membership and  expulsion of a member.

The Party constitution does not vest the Gen. secretary with such sweeping powers to take such decisions .
