Following the controversial election victory of the President, the Govt. has been on a witch hunt against the Opposition party supporters and of Gen. Fonseka, the closest rival of the President at the elections.

Amidst the recent raiding of Gen. Fonseka’s office by the CID when the office equipments and some of the General’s employees were taken into custody, two employees have sought anticipatory bail in fear of they too being arrested by the CID who are apparently on their trail.

The CID at the time of the raid has taken 17 computers, 6 Laptops and some staff into custody. The Lawyers for the two applicants for bail told the Colombo Court, following the raid, when their clients went to complain to the Cinnamon Gardens police station of their plight, the Police officers have pleaded with them and told that they cannot record the entries as they would also be in trouble.

The Lawyers also told Court that the whereabouts of those who were arrested at the time of the raid are still not known., and they can even be dead vis a vis the situation in the country.

The Court then noticed the CID to appear before Court on the 12th to inquire into the matter.
